ABOUT

Hey there, thanks for stopping by.  My name is Kyle and I am the creator of The Budget Investor.   I have always been keen on saving money whenever possible.  As a child, I often put aside a portion of my birthday money, Christmas money and even my allowance.  Granted, that was just a few dollars and cents back then, but it is clear that this passion for saving money has stuck with me into my early adulthood.

My goal with this website is to spread my financial knowledge – starting with the most basic principles – to help anyone desiring to learn about finance.  I should note that I do not have a professional background in finance.  I graduated University with an Engineering & Management degree and I currently work as an Engineer in a related field to my studies.

Although I do not work in the financial industry, I have found monitoring, trending and interpreting my finances to be a passion of mine.  The idea of making my money work for me has really shaped my outlook on the old-fashioned strategy of parking money in a high-interest savings account.

It wasn’t too long ago that I was weary of investing money into the stock market.  It’s a scary leap of faith to make your first trade.  Do I call in to my investment firm to make my first trade?  Do I trust that I can make the right choices myself online?  Am I even making the right decision?  These were just a few of the questions that I asked myself.

After years of gathering knowledge, researching, investing and budgeting, I am now reaching out to those who were in the same position I was not too long ago in hopes that I can make it just a little bit easier to get started.

Kyle, The Budget Investor
